R. Bryan Aikman​​

Bryan has over 30 years professional experience in electronic engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications, organisational analysis, business process re-engineering, change management, risk analysis, strategic quality planning, training, project management and energy management.


Bryan is a certified Solar Photovoltaic Systems Designer and Installer with projects including :
  • Created PV System Sizing Excel-based program to aid quick design
  • E-Biz Centre (Kingston) - Designer of 2000W Power augmentation and efficiency setup using PV system and LED lighting
  • JIIC (Kingston) – recommendation of energy efficiency design using LED lighting
  • Residential - PV Audits, Investment Analyses and designs including a Pro Bono installation in rural Jamaica 
  • Solar Automated Irrigation Systems – Installations of Greenhouse Irrigations systems in farming communities of Lucea , Hanover and Spanish Town, St Catherine.
​In manufacturing Bryan has led many successful productivity improvement project across a wide cross section of companies. Bryan has worked as a Senior Process Engineer at Intel Corporation where the process he was responsible for, achieved and maintained a record among all Intel Plants worldwide of 99.9% virgin yield with no rework. Other manufacturing companies that he has managed major project that have led to significant reduction in cost and improvement in efficiencies include Caribbean Cement Company Ltd., Alcan Jamaica and Jamaica Public Service Co. Ltd.

In telecommunication Bryan installed the first live face to face interactive video conferencing facility in the Caribbean and Latin America. He was also the Technical Officer in charge of developing and expanding the University of the West Indies’ Distance Teaching network to cover all the contributing countries in the Caribbean.

As a Senior Manager, Advisory Services at KPMG, Bryan was a member of the project team advising on the successful divestment of one of the sugar factories and estates by the Sugar Industry of Jamaica which involved the development of financial models and the pricing of intangible assets. He also developed the financial model used in the acquisition of an automobile dealership by another.

  • Published article on automated Solar Irrigation Systems in Caribbean Energy Information System‘s (CEIS) quarterly magazine – The CEIS Forum 2nd Quarter, 2010
  • Published article and presented case study on automated Solar Irrigation Systems the 5th Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-5) 2010 (Montego Bay , Jamaica 2010)
  • Presented demonstration of the Automated Irrigation system to the Greenhouse Growers' Association of Jamaica 
  • Presented demonstration of the Automated Irrigation system to students and lecturers of the Vocational Training Development Institute (VTDI) in Jamaica
DESIGNER / INSTALLER
  • FAO sponsored RADA Hanover Parish Plant Nursery - Designed and Installed multi-valved , multi-zoned misting system . The success of the installation led to RADA expanding the misting System to include a 2nd Nursery which was added to initial system
  • IICA/FAO Bushy Park 3 Greenhouse Pepper production project with automated Drip Irrigation System 
  • Designed , constructed and installed central control system for multi-valve , fertilizer injection system for irrigating 3 greenhouses
  • Currently completing Local Initiative Facility for Urban Environment (LIFE) sponsored Community Greenhouse Design and Installation
LED LIGHTING AND PV INSTALLATIONS

Additionally, Kevin has designed outdoor lighting for a Car park (Kingston) and mini-stadium using Visual design software. He has also worked on the team of installers for a supplemental PV system for the E-Biz Centre (Kingston)

  • As Senior Manager, Investments - SCOTIA JAMAICA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT LIMITED Kevin was responsible for Business development of the Pension and Trust Fund Management Unit, managing over J$20 Billion of Pension Fund and Trust Assets and developing Risk and Investment Management policies 
  • As Chairman – Investment Committee, SCOTIA JAMAICA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY Kevin was responsible for overseeing the prudent management of the Company’s Investment Portfolio.

Noel Watson is a Director of LumiTech with responsibility for Strategic Planning and Marketing. With a strong background in research and economics Noel Watson complements the two other Directors.

He is also Chairman and CEO of A-Z Information Jamaica Limited, which is a consulting and information firm operating in the Caribbean.

His consultancy work takes him across all CARIFORUM countries, into the EU and as far as Africa. He has conducted consultancy assignments for international development agencies including various EU agencies, USAID, CIDA, IDB, OAS, GTZ, UNECLAC, UNDP, Caribbean Development Bank, the CARICOM Secretariat, and the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery.

He has taught courses at the University of the West Indies and is a member of the General Council of the International University of the Caribbean.
